My latest purchase from Exduct was an EL01D.  I had already purchased a couple of knives of the EL01 variety, but wanted the wooden handle.  This knife costs a bit more than the other models of this same number.  The reason for the additional cost is that it comes in a very nice box and a pouch inside the box.  I told my grandkids that the pouch is the knife's sleeping bag.  Both the box and the pouch are of an exceptional quality.  If you wanted to buy a knife for a gift or for a reward for someone, this is the way to go.  I personally did not need the box or the pouch, but I am impressed with the quality and presentation.  Is it worth the extra money? 

Again, I wanted this particular knife with the cherry wood colored handles, so for me it was.  If you just want this model of knife and don't care about the handles, another model would be less expensive.  In terms of the knife, it is absolutely beautiful.  I love the flipper and the weight of the knife says quality.  It is sharp out of the box.  The blade is a serious blade.  The linerlock appears well synchronized to the knife, making it safe for use.  I wouldn't hesitate to use the knife for any daily activity. 

However, this particular knife will go unused for awhile so that it can be admired for its beauty.  The flip action of the knife is stiff, stiffer than others I have ordered of this same model number.  It has a star type screw that is not easily adjusted.  If it could be loosened a partial turn, I think it would be as smooth as butter.  As it is now, it is not easily opened, but I suspect that will improve as it is used and lubricated.  Meanwhile, I am hoping to find a way to adjust the star screw.
