I am a knife collector and enthusiast all my life, Collecting European, Swiss,and American knives.
In the eighties and nineties there were already some knives coming from asia on the western market but they were most of the time low quality "Made in Taiwan had a bad ring to it.

Now, the rapid grow of the Chinese economy the last decades has made China a major player on the world market. From low grade to high end; everything is now produced in China.

These changes are also very noticable in the production of knives. The last few years Brands like Sanrenmu, Bee, Ganzo, Enlan and others are producing knives of the highest quality. Sanrenmu for example has a very large collection of knives for almost every task.

Their designs are most of the time original and elegant, the finish and attention to detail is very high and and also the choice of materials is excellent.

Knives with G10, Carbon fiber, Micarta scales are now available for the common men.
The steel of choice with most of these kniveblades is 8cr13mov which is when it has been tempered the right way, an excellent knivesteel: It takes an amazing sharp edge, is though, easy to sharpen and mediate rust resistant.

 I have already a large collection of these Chinese folders and I have a youtube channel were I do reviews on many of these knives. For the price they are unbeatable and you can be shure it is an Chinese folding knive (the Enlan El-02B) that is in my pocket right now.
