Experiences with the SanRenMu GB-763

I've been a camper and outdoorsman for the majority of my life, a hobby first instilled in me by my father, a man who in his 60s still hikes hundreds of miles every year all over North America.  Ever since I started camping, I've always carried a small folding pocket knife for general camp usage, and just this last month is the first time I've tried the excellent SanRenMu 763 pocket knife.

I originally chose to take this small pocket knife camping because it had two very useful qualites:

1.  It's very lightweight for the blade length.  When hiking, especially longer hikes of a week or more every gram of weight needs to be studied and examined, and any superfluous weight discarded.  Since the GB-763 is so incredibly lightweight, I was very comfortable carrying it with me.

2.  The nature of the lock.  The Axis Lock mechanism present in the SanRenMu 763 has a great advantage over other types of locks in that the lock essentially self cleaning - it's very difficult for the lock to fail because of dirt, water or contaminants.

I spent a week hiking in British Columbia wilderness, and my SanRenMu came in handy many times.  It was easier to wash and clean (any running water would clean it handily), and it never showed any signs of rust or discoloration.  Not only that, it maintained a nice, sharp edge over an entire weeks worth of usage, not even requiring a sharpening.

Some of the things I did with my SanRenMu include:  cutting and preparing food, cutting fishing line, cutting rope for a tarp, cutting moleskin for sores, making fuzz sticks for fires, and cutting kindling for fires.  I also used it to open food and fuel packaging, as well as cut away hardened skin from sores.  At the end of the week my father (who was hiking with me) was so impressed by this pocket knife that he wanted one as well - I handed him my pocket knife, and expect to be purchasing one very soon.

The grip on the knife stayed safe and secure at all times, comfortable in the hand but I never had to worry about it slipping or falling because of the fine texturing on the handle.  I was overall extremely pleased.
